Why are my WiFi speeds better on my phone than my PC, even with an Ethernet connection?

I recently upgraded to Sky Full Fibre 2.5 Gigafast (2500Mbps) but I'm noticing some disappointing speeds with my TP Link AC750 WiFi extender and TP-Link Archer TX30U Plus AX1800 on my devices. When using my phone, I get 400Mbps download connected directly to the main router, but only 150Mbps when connected to the WiFi extender. For my PC, connected via a Cat 6 Ethernet cable to the same extender, the speed drops to a mere 90Mbps, although it can reach about 150Mbps with the TP-Link Archer TX30U WiFi dongle. I've tried different extenders and have updated drivers, and ensured I'm using the 5GHz band. I'm curious why my phone gets better speeds than my PC, despite the PC being wired. Any ideas for a solution?

WiFi extenders can be hit or miss, especially because they rely on a good connection to the main router. It’s crucial to place them where they get a strong signal from the router while still being close enough to the area where you need WiFi. If possible, using an Ethernet cable to connect to a wireless access point is a better solution—it's more stable than relying on a wireless connection. That way, you're avoiding the pitfalls of wireless extender performance.

I get that, but running an Ethernet cable isn't an option for me right now. It’s frustrating that my phone can still pull higher speeds than my PC, even though it's on WiFi and the PC is using an Ethernet connection. What’s up with that?
