I'm working at the service desk and we've been seeing a surge in students having issues with network printers on their personal devices. They connect to the print server using their domain credentials and check a box to remember those credentials. However, after changing their passwords or sometimes just out of the blue, students are told their credentials are incorrect. They have to clear the print server entry from Credential Manager, log out, or reboot to reconnect. This has been happening frequently since around August, and I'm a little out of my depth since I'm not a sysadmin. Could this be related to NTLM or Windows 11 updates? Any troubleshooting advice would really help!

A good question to ask is why you're using a domain-controlled printer server for a non-domain setup. There are alternative solutions out there. If you don’t need strict password tracking, something like CUPS could be a good fit.
Honestly, you might want to consider investing in a better printer management solution. The current setup just seems really clunky and prone to issues. It might be time for a change!
It sounds like the students are connecting their personal devices to the campus network through eduroam, which might not be the best approach for managing printers. Yeah, I totally agree! I've heard that other campuses are moving away from traditional print servers post-PrintNightmare. It's frustrating since I don't have much say in these decisions, just trying to find a workaround for now.
