Hey everyone,
I've been trying to limit my frames per second (FPS) in iRacing using various methods like in-game settings, the Nvidia Control Panel, and RTSS, but it doesn't seem to work. I'm aiming for a limit of 157 FPS since I have a triple monitor setup at 165Hz and I'm using G-Sync. However, according to the Capframe X benchmark, my Max FPS often spikes to over 200 or even 300, even though the in-game overlay consistently shows 157 FPS.
The FPS fluctuates between 125 and 200, but the average stays at 157, which is my limit. I always have the G-Sync indicator on, and I've noticed my monitors' OSD shows varying Hz. Can anyone tell me if Capframe X is correct? Are my FPS truly being limited?
I'm using a 9800X3D CPU and an RTX 4090 GPU with the latest BIOS, drivers, and chipset drivers.

Is the game running in Windowed mode? Sometimes that can mess with FPS limitations. Make sure you’re not in Windowed Borderless. Also, double-check that your Variable Refresh Rate settings are enabled.
Have you checked the Nvidia Control Panel to see if you can cap your FPS there? Sometimes setting it in the global settings can help even if the game settings aren’t doing the trick.
