Why can’t I backup my photos even after freeing up space in iCloud?

I'm having an issue where I can't back up my photos because it keeps telling me that my iCloud storage is full. I've managed to free up 10GB of space, but it still prompts me to upgrade to a 200GB plan or higher. I'm wondering if this is just a glitch or if Apple is trying to push users toward buying more storage. I've rebooted multiple times and checked my storage, but I'm still having the same problem. What should I do?

Try visiting iCloud.com to see if your photos are actually stored there. Sometimes, they might be stuck in the recently deleted section. It's also worth noting that syncing with iCloud can take a little time, so just give it a bit of time to catch up.

If you've checked everything and still have issues, consider logging out of iCloud and back in. Sometimes that can reset things and help with that backup function. Just make sure to have everything backed up first!

You should know that the free iCloud storage is just 5GB. Even if you’ve freed up 10GB, your iCloud backup will only work if your total usage is below that 5GB limit. Basically, you need to check what’s taking up that space and maybe delete some older data or photos to make room.

That's so true! I had to clean up my iCloud a lot to get it to back up properly.
