Why Can’t I Boot from My External SSD Over USB-C?

I'm having trouble booting from an external SSD that's set up with Windows To Go. Whenever I try to boot using USB-C, I get a BSOD with an 'inaccessible boot device' error. However, it works perfectly fine when I use a USB-A connection. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I created the setup using Rufus. Thanks in advance!

To troubleshoot the BSOD you're experiencing, you might want to check for crash logs. If you can access Windows, either normally or in Safe Mode, look for dump files in C:WindowsMinidump. If there are any, compress the folder and upload it to a file-sharing site like catbox.moe or mediafire.com. It's essential to have multiple dump files for better analysis!

Just a heads up, Windows To Go is no longer supported since it was an enterprise-level product that got discontinued in 2018. You might want to consider looking for alternatives for booting from USB since the technology has moved on a bit since then.
