I'm currently in India and trying to set up a new Telegram account without using my personal number. I've attempted multiple temporary number apps and websites, but it seems like none of them are successful anymore. I'm either not receiving the verification code or the numbers I've used have already been banned. Have they blocked most virtual or temporary number services? Is there any way to create an account in 2026?

From what I've seen, they haven't completely banned all temp number services, but the idea of using them regularly has definitely hit a snag. If you're looking for alternatives, some people have had luck using numbers from legitimate VoIP services. Just keep in mind that it may still be hit or miss.
It looks like they’ve actually restricted a lot of temporary numbers lately. It's possible they blocked many of those services from working with Telegram, which is frustrating! I think they want to keep accounts tied to real numbers for security reasons.
