Why Can’t I Download Open Source Apps on iOS Like I Can on Android?

I've been trying to download some open source apps like VN and other utilities using Google Chrome and Safari, but I'm running into issues. Unlike Android, there doesn't seem to be a default file installer on iOS. I'm also facing strict GPU limits that are preventing me from using web applications like Photopea. Is there anything I can do to get around these issues?

It sounds like there's some confusion here. Apps like Photopea are mainly web-based, so you don't actually download them – you just edit your photos online and save them. Plus, iOS apps can really only be downloaded from the App Store in the US, but plenty of open-source apps are available there too. As for the GPU limits, could you clarify what you mean?

Well, applications like Krita and Termux are available on Android but not for iOS, which is frustrating. As for Photopea, the iOS version doesn't perform as well due to those GPU limitations.

Exactly! I heard Apple restricts apps when their GPU RAM usage goes beyond 50MB, which is really limiting.

Are you using a Mac, iPad, or iPhone? It might help to know what device you're on to better understand your situation.

Just to confirm, are you on an iPhone 13? That model should handle web apps reasonably well, but I understand the frustration if you're hitting those limits.
