I've got a laptop connected to two external monitors, and for the past two years, I've always duplicated my laptop screen on the first external monitor while expanding the third. Recently, I started having trouble with this setup. For the last few days, I can't seem to duplicate the laptop screen anymore; it only extends to the second monitor. When I try to duplicate via Windows settings, it flickers for a second, shows the prompt to keep the settings, but then it just reverts back to extending. The resolutions on both screens are the same, and everything is detected fine. I haven't changed anything in my setup, but it's just stopped working. I can easily duplicate the two external monitors, but not the laptop screen. I've heard suggestions about using the NVIDIA tool, but it only shows the two external monitors. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you tried adjusting the refresh rates for your monitors? Sometimes, mismatched refresh rates can cause issues when trying to duplicate screens. Go into the display settings and make sure all screens are set to the same refresh rate. That might just do the trick!
First off, try resetting your display settings. Sometimes, configuration files can get a bit tangled. Right-click on your desktop, select 'Display settings', and set everything back to default. Then, try re-establishing the duplication to see if it holds. If that doesn't help, check your cable connections for any loose ends. It's also worth trying a different HDMI or DisplayPort cable if you have a spare—cables can sometimes wear out without obvious signs.
Good advice! Also, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, even without major updates, small patches can make a difference in how your displays work.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely check the refresh rates on all my monitors to see if that helps.
