Why can’t I eject my Seagate external hard drive?

I'm transferring a bunch of game files to my Seagate external hard drive because I'm getting a new PC, but I'm having trouble ejecting it. When I try to use the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option, the Seagate drive shows up as greyed out, and I can't click it. When I attempt to eject it, I get a message saying:

"Problem Ejecting USB Attached SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device - Windows can't stop your 'Volume' device because a program is still using it. Close any programs that might be using the device and try again later."

I've tried restarting my PC and closing all applications related to the files, but nothing seems to work. The drive has a lot of important files like game mods, save files, and some music projects. Any advice?

Have you tried just restarting your PC and then trying to eject it again? Sometimes that can help clear up the issue with locked files.

You could try shutting down your PC completely, unplugging the drive while it's off, then starting it back up and reconnecting the drive. This can help if something is locked.

If it's still not working, make sure no programs are accessing the drive. Sometimes background processes can lock the files. You can check the Task Manager to see if anything looks suspicious.
