I've been trying to install the Find My iPhone app on my iPhone 14 running iOS 16.6, but it just won't work. I've got plenty of storage, and other apps like Reddit and TikTok install without a hitch. Every time I try to get Find My iPhone, it buffers for a second and then nothing happens. It's been almost a week now, and I really need the app to locate my missing AirPods. I've already tried a bunch of fixes, like restarting my phone, letting it run out of battery, and signing in and out of my iCloud. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any suggestions? I can post a video demonstrating the problem in the comments if needed.

Since you're on iOS 16.6, it might be a compatibility issue. The app could require a newer iOS version, like 18.5, to run properly. Have you considered updating your iOS?
No need to feel dumb! Not being able to upload a video can be frustrating. Just know that these app installation issues can be a real hassle!
Have you tried deleting any existing version of the app and then re-downloading it from the App Store? It could help reset things for you.
It's not on my phone at all—that's my whole issue!
I think OP is on iOS 16.6, and the Find My app might require a more recent version to be installed.
I've had no problems before though, and my sister is on an even lower iOS without issues. Plus, I’m not too keen on iOS 18—it looks complicated!
