Why can’t I log into my new PC after moving my NVMe drives?

I recently built a new PC and transferred my NVMe drives, which have my operating system on them. When I reach the login screen, Windows is asking for an internet connection, and it only shows the greyed-out airplane mode option where the network options should be. None of my Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapters are visible, even though I've enabled them in the BIOS. I've updated the BIOS but I'm not sure what to do next since I can't access Windows to troubleshoot. I think I might be missing drivers for the adapters, but how do I install them without getting into Windows first? Any tips would be super helpful!

Looks like you haven't done a full Windows install yet. Using Rufus might help since it offers options to skip the internet requirement during setup.

It sounds like you may need a new Windows license if your new build has different hardware than your old one. You might want to forget about moving the OS and instead, try to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment (WRE) by repeatedly pressing F8 when the BIOS splash screen appears. From there, you can perform a reinstall of Windows, which allows you to skip the internet connection part and set up a local account.

If possible, get someone who knows about this stuff to help you out. It could save you a lot of time and potential issues. Just offer them some food and drinks as a thank you!

Consider using USB tethering from your phone to share the data connection with your PC. This worked for me when I faced a similar issue setting up my PC.
