Why Can’t I Open Files on My Flash Drive?

Hey everyone, I recently bought a 512GB flash drive to store my films and TV shows. I transferred some files from my old flash drive, which worked perfectly with my TV. The issue is that while I can see the films in my Finder, I can't open them once they're on the new flash drive. The drive is formatted as exFAT, the individual files are under 4GB, and there aren't any visible errors. I'm at a loss—any suggestions on what I can try next?

Keep in mind there are a lot of counterfeit flash drives out there. They might not actually hold all the data they claim, which could be causing your issue.

Sounds frustrating! When you try to open the files, what specifically happens? Do you get an error message?

Yeah, I see an error saying the file isn't supported on QuickTime, but the original file opens fine on my Mac.
