Hey everyone! I just built a new PC and I'm in the process of transferring my files using an external SSD. As an artist, I have tons of fonts installed on my old PC (let's call it PC 1). I initially copied the fonts from C:WindowsFonts to my new PC (PC 2), but then I realized I was missing a bunch of them. I found out that some of my fonts are located in C:Users[username]AppDataFonts on PC 1. So, I copied that folder over to the SSD as well, but when I opened it on PC 2, the folder doesn't show up at all. I've even tried tweaking permissions on PC 1 to make it accessible to everyone, but no luck. Any suggestions on how to make these folders visible? Also, just to note, PC 1 is running Windows 10 and PC 2 is on Windows 11. Thanks in advance!

Hey! It sounds like the AppData folder is hidden, which is common. Make sure you're set to view hidden files on PC 2—this might help you see the Fonts folder. Additionally, instead of focusing on the AppData fonts, you might want to just copy everything from C:WindowsFonts on PC 1 directly into C:WindowsFonts on PC 2. Sometimes, AppData can be tricky, and copying from the main fonts folder tends to work better. Good luck!
Just an idea, but make sure that both PCs are fully updated. Sometimes, system updates can affect file visibility and permissions. Also, if the fonts are all .ttf or .otf files, copying them directly into the Fonts folder on PC 2, rather than dealing with AppData, might solve the problem. Good luck!
I’ll check for updates! Thanks for reminding me. I think I'll give copying them directly to the Fonts folder another shot too.
Thanks for the tip! I can see hidden files on PC 2, but the issue might be deeper. I’ve copied everything from both the Windows and AppData folders, but I still can’t access them on PC 2—they’re showing as corrupt when I try to open them.
