Why can’t I see my installed software after replacing my C drive?

I recently swapped out my C drive, which had only the operating system, for a new one to install Windows 11. All my software and games were installed on a separate drive and they're working fine, but I can't see any of them in the list of installed programs in the control panel. What can I do to resolve this issue?

The reason you can't see your installed software is because they’re not registered in your new Windows installation. Each time a program is installed, it gets added to the Windows Registry, which is empty after a new OS install. So from Windows' perspective, there are no programs installed. Unfortunately, you'll need to reinstall them to get them to show up again.

Got it. If I want to uninstall anything from the second disk, how do I do that?

Unfortunately, there’s no shortcut here; you'll have to install each program one by one. This could actually be a good opportunity to update everything to the latest versions. Don't stress too much about your games, as long as you log into the same accounts, your settings and progress should be safe.
