Why Can’t I See My Wi-Fi Network After Installing My New Motherboard?

I recently installed the MSI MPG x870E Carbon motherboard and everything seems to be set up correctly. I've installed the LAN driver and connected the external antenna, but I'm only able to see a Bluetooth adapter and two Ethernet network adapters in the Internet Connections menu on Windows. There's no wireless or WLAN adapter showing up at all. I booted up using a drive that's a clone from my old system, but I thought installing the driver from MSI would solve the issue. Am I missing something here?

Hey! Are you on Windows 10? I've heard that Wi-Fi 7 can have compatibility issues with it. If you are, upgrading to Windows 11 might be the way to go. You can do that from a USB and select the option to keep your files and settings!

Yes, I'm on Windows 10. Sounds like I might need to make that upgrade soon!

Just a heads up, make sure you installed the WLAN/Wi-Fi driver specifically. The LAN driver usually just refers to the wired Ethernet part. WLAN is what you need for the wireless internet. If you didn’t see a WLAN driver listed, that could be the issue you’re facing.

I didn’t find one listed, so I guess I need to look for the right driver!
