I've been trying to reinstall Windows Defender because I ran into issues with my Chrome download getting stuck. I was told to use PowerShell for the reinstallation, but I can't seem to type anything in the window; it doesn't even show the PS prompt like I've seen in some tutorial videos. I'm not a developer, so I could really use some help figuring this out.

Honestly, it sounds like you're barking up the wrong tree! If your download is stuck, messing with Defender isn't the solution. You might want to just install Chrome directly using the command 'winget install google.chrome' instead, or troubleshoot why Chrome isn't downloading.
I get it—it's frustrating when things don't work. But seriously, trying to reinstall Defender just to get Chrome installed seems unnecessary. Can you describe the exact problem you have with downloading? It might help to solve it without all that extra hassle.
First off, why are you trying to reinstall Windows Defender? It's built into Windows, so you can't really uninstall it. Are you having a specific issue that you need help with?

I was trying to turn off live detection because my Chrome download kept freezing. That's why I thought I needed to mess with Defender.
