Why can’t my computer run any games?

Hey everyone! I think this is a common issue, but I'm really stumped. I have a prebuilt CyberPower PC equipped with an i5 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, but no matter what game I try to play—like Resident Evil 5, Dead by Daylight, Sims 4, or even ROBLOX—they all crash. I've tried running them on the lowest possible graphics settings, but my computer ends up overheating. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong and how to fix it?

Something's likely physically wrong if you're experiencing overheating. Can you check what temperatures you're hitting while gaming? That info would really help narrow down the issue.

Lastly, give your PC some time to idle and monitor the temperatures for about 10 minutes. That can help determine if the overheating occurs even without running games.

Also, double-check that your video cable is connected directly to your Nvidia card and not the onboard graphics. That can happen sometimes and cause performance problems.

It sounds like you might have an issue with the thermal paste on your CPU. If it hasn't been applied correctly or has worn out, it could lead to overheating pretty quickly. You might want to check that first!

Or it could just be missing entirely, haha!

Have you tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to clear out any old GPU drivers? Sometimes remnants from previous installations can cause conflicts. After cleaning them, be sure to install the latest drivers from Nvidia.
