Hey everyone! I've got a hybrid drive setup on my Windows laptop that consists of a 1GB M.2 2280 SSD for the OS and a 2TB Seagate HDD for data storage. Everything was working fine until yesterday when I noticed that accessing my HDD has become a pain. The read speeds are insanely slow, making it take ages for folders to open, and some programs just time out. I can still play music from it via MusicBee, but even that takes forever to load. Sometimes, my laptop doesn't even recognize the HDD at all. The drive is about 9 or 10 years old, and while I suspect it might be a loose connection or it's just on its last legs, I really want to avoid spending money on a new drive if I can help it. I've already tried rebooting, booting in safe mode, and running some diagnostic commands, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It sounds like your HDD might be failing. It's great that you ran CrystalDiskInfo, but those pending sectors suggest it’s on the way out. I’d recommend backing up your data if you can, just in case it completely gives up.

Yeah, I'm worried about that too. I can access the files still, but it’s super slow. Guess I should do that ASAP!
