Why did a blocked contact reappear in my text messages?

Hey everyone, I recently had a situation where someone I blocked a few months ago seemed to 'unblock' themselves on my Android phone. Their name reappeared in my text message app as an RCS message, even though they didn't send anything. I quickly blocked them again, but I'm really concerned about how this happened. Just to clarify, this person is quite malicious, and I'm trying to keep them out of my life for good. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

It sounds like you're using a messenger app like Facebook Messenger. Just so you know, even if you block someone, past messages can still show up in your active chats. This can be confusing – I had a similar experience with my ex who blocked me. Their name still popped up like they were online even after I was blocked. It's annoying to see updates from someone you don’t want in your life anymore!

Yeah, it's frustrating! I had someone who blocked me show up too, it’s like the app doesn't care about the block.

When you blocked this person, did you do it through your messages or contacts? Sometimes the method can affect how it shows up later. You might want to double-check how you blocked them to ensure it worked properly.

I blocked them through my contacts. Maybe that’s why?
