I've been enjoying a smooth gaming experience with FPS well above my monitor's refresh rate, but out of nowhere, I'm now dealing with screen tearing. It only goes away when I activate Vsync, but I'm hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve any form of sync like Vsync, Fastsync, or Freesync. I've already tried disconnecting and reconnecting my HDMI cable from both the GPU and the monitor, but I'm at a loss for what to do next without sacrificing FPS.

Tearing happens when your FPS exceeds your monitor’s refresh rate. You could enable Vsync when your FPS is high, and use adaptive sync when it's lower. Another trick is to cap your FPS a bit below your monitor's refresh rate for a smoother experience. I get that you want to maintain those high FPS, but without some sync solution, it’s tough to get rid of the tearing.
Screen tearing usually occurs when your GPU and monitor can't stay in sync, even if everything seems fine. Check if there has been a driver update recently or if a setting got reset. Try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to reinstall your GPU drivers. Also, make sure your monitor is set to its maximum refresh rate in your Windows settings. Sometimes, background applications like overlays can mess with your display mode, too. But, in most cases, some type of sync is needed to completely eliminate tearing.
Have you looked at your monitor settings? It might have switched modes unexpectedly. Try checking the settings in Windows to ensure it’s operating at its full refresh rate. If the tearing persists, it might mean you have to consider some form of sync, unfortunately.
