Why did my Android phone’s flashlight turn off unexpectedly?

Today, my Android phone's flashlight just turned off on its own, even though I didn't touch the button or open any camera app. I'm a bit freaked out because a few months ago I was behind on updates and installed a sketchy third-party app that I've since deleted. After updating my phone, I'm worried that there could still be malware lingering. Can anyone explain why this happened? I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20, and I tried to replicate it, but it didn't turn off again. Sorry if this seems like a silly question; I tend to be a bit paranoid.

It's very unlikely that it's malware causing your flashlight to turn off. You don't need to stress too much about that! If you're feeling paranoid, maybe consider talking to a mental health professional about it. They might help ease your worries.

For sure! I'm planning to discuss it with my therapist this week.

Sometimes, if the battery level gets too low, the light will automatically turn off to save power. Were you running low on battery when it happened?

Nope, my phone was at 60% battery!

It could also be that your phone was getting too hot, which can trigger the flashlight to shut off. And honestly, if it were malware, you might want to consider what purpose it would have just to turn off your flashlight. It seems a bit odd, right?
