So here's a bit of a puzzler. About a week ago, my dad's Apple ID profile picture on my phone switched from his initials to a photo of my mom—without me clicking anything to make that happen. I usually get suggestions to update friend contacts with their names and photos, but this change just happened on its own. My dad wants to know how to change the image back because he's confused about it as well. It's hard to believe he managed to change it himself since, no offense to him, he's not exactly tech-savvy. When I try to change it in his Apple settings back to just the initials, it doesn't work. I even took a screenshot of the initials and used it as a picture, but it still didn't save. I also noticed that all the suggested photos were mainly of my mom when I opened the photo selection—which felt a bit odd. We've checked that name and photo sharing settings aren't on, as suggested in a quick Google search. I'm just not sure what else to try, and it's awkward given that his co-workers also see my mom's picture now. Any ideas?

If they shared an iPad at one point, make sure that your mom isn't set as the 'Me' contact in address book settings or that the 'Show my profile pic to other users' isn't turned on. It could still be pulling from that shared device info.
It sounds like there could be some connection or sharing going on between devices or accounts. Have they possibly shared a device before? If there is any chance that your dad has a phone number linked to your mom's account, it could be pulling info from there. Just something to consider!
No shared accounts or numbers, though. They keep their stuff quite separate.
Check if the email for his Apple ID might have any connection to your mom's Gmail. I know for my mom, her profile pic updated based on her Gmail photo whenever I switched devices. It might be worth a look if her photo is linked to his account somehow.
Nope, they each have their own emails with no crossover. The initials used to be the only thing showing before.

They did share an iPad but it was logged into her Apple ID, and it hasn't been used in ages. This random change only started last week.
