Why did my manga apps stop working after the iOS update?

I recently updated my iPad to iOS 17.7.6, and now two of my favorite apps for reading manga, Viz Manga and Shonen Jump, aren't functioning at all. These apps share a login and have been working perfectly before the update. After the upgrade, I keep encountering SSL errors, and both apps are unable to connect to Wi-Fi or cellular data. My internet connection is fine since all other apps and my browser work without issues. I've tried resetting my router, performing a hard reset on the iPad, resetting network settings, uninstalling a VPN, disabling the private Wi-Fi address, and reinstalling both apps, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Any suggestions on what else I can do?

Have you tried updating your iPad to the latest version? Some users found that iOS 18.4 resolved connectivity issues with certain apps after the update. If your iPad is saying it’s up to date, you might want to check if there are any other updates or try contacting Apple support for further assistance.

I can’t get it to update—it keeps telling me iPadOS is already on 17.7.6.
