I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 5 5600X to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D to boost performance. Everything was running smoothly until a few days ago when I was gaming and watching videos for a few hours. After shutting down my PC and heading to the gym, I returned to find it wouldn't power on. The fans jerk and the RGB lights flash, but it doesn't start up. I switched back to the 5600X, and everything worked fine. I updated the BIOS and tried putting the 5700X3D back in, but it still won't boot. I even bought a new motherboard and power supply, but that didn't fix the problem either. I also replaced the CMOS battery. Why is this happening so suddenly?

What CPU cooler are you using for the 5700X3D? Sometimes improper cooling can cause power issues. Just a thought!
It’s likely just a bad chip. If one CPU works and the other doesn’t, then it sounds like you may need a warranty replacement for the 5700X3D. Sorry to hear about the trouble!
Switching the motherboard might help, but have you tried booting with the 5600X and checking the Device Manager for any potential driver issues? That might give some clues too!
If the 5600X works fine, it’s worth considering whether the 5700X3D itself is faulty rather than assuming it’s the motherboard. Has the 5700X3D been under warranty? You might want to get it swapped if it is.
When switching CPUs, try reseating the RAM and resetting the CMOS, but with your current situation, the 5700X3D could just be malfunctioning. Since the other chip is functional, you could update the BIOS with it and see if that makes any difference.

I'm using an Arctic Freezer 34 Duo. I thought cooling was fine, but I'll double-check it.
