Questions About PSU Cables for My New Build

Hey everyone! I just got a modular beQuiet! Pure Power 750W PSU for my new computer build, and I have a few questions about the two VGA-labeled cables that came with it. Each cable has two 6+2 connectors, but they differ in design: one has a pigtail type connection (where the branches split near the end), while the other has two separate branches all the way to the PSU. Here are my questions: 1) Why do these cables have different connector designs if they end up with the same number of connectors at the end? 2) Which cable is better suited for connecting to my GPU versus the PCI-E power connection on my motherboard? 3) Can I daisy-chain my GPU and the PCI-E connection together from the same cable? I know this isn't ideal, but my GPU (an RX-9060 XT 16 GB) has only one eight-pin power connection and a TDP of 170W. Thanks for any insights!

1. The difference is because the pigtail cable combines the wires, while the branched cable keeps them separate for each connector. On the PSU side, it has more pins since some can be reused between connectors without sacrificing performance. Only a segment of the pins actually carry power, while others are for signaling.

2. Both types of connectors should work fine for your GPU, and you can use the PCI-E motherboard connection if needed, depending on your setup. However, if you aren't heavily using all your PCI slots, you can skip it without a problem.

3. Yes, you can daisy-chain them if your cables reach. But since the motherboard may not require that connection, it might be safe to just go with the GPU alone. The branched cables are considered a safer choice as they are cleaner and more reliable for power delivery.
