Why did my phone show the wrong time after restarting it?

I turned on my 16e after being off for several hours, and the lock screen showed the time as 11:40. A minute later, it switched to 10:15, which matched the world clock for my time zone. My time zone is correctly set to my city, and I'm running version 18.4.1. The phone is new, and I still have 100GB of storage left. This was really strange, especially since it skipped from 11:40 to 10:15 instead of saying something like 11:15. Later, while looking at the time, I saw the numbers glitch for a moment—it looked like they were melting before returning to normal. Has anyone experienced anything like this, and do you have any idea what might have caused it? By the way, I haven't done any drugs and I have a carbon monoxide detector, just to clear that up in case people ask.

Honestly, try updating to version 18.5. Sometimes these glitches can be fixed with a software update. Don't stress over it too much, these things happen!

I get that, but it's still weird! If it happens again, I’d definitely look into it.

This might be a cell tower issue where your phone picked up a faulty time signal. Sometimes when you turn your phone back on, it syncs with a tower that doesn’t have the right time set. It’s usually just a temporary glitch, nothing serious.

When you boot up the phone, it can occasionally show old screen images that seem like data screens but aren’t live data. After everything loads up, the right info appears. It might just be a visual hiccup! No biggie.
