I recently noticed that Bitlocker prompts for the key when I start my laptop, which is a Gigabyte gaming laptop running Windows 11. I haven't made any changes, like updates, recently, and I'm a bit anxious about why this is happening now. Is this a common issue with Windows 11, or could it indicate a more serious problem? Any thoughts?

I had something similar happen on my laptop. It was just a one-time error after a BIOS update, and everything went back to normal. If you have your data backed up, you should be fine. If this keeps happening, it might be worth digging deeper into your settings or considering if you need the encryption feature at all.
It's not uncommon for Bitlocker to prompt you if there's been a change in the BIOS settings or your disk setup. Sometimes even minor hardware or software changes can trigger this. If this happened after a BIOS update, it’s usually not a big deal. But just to be safe, if you don't need disk encryption, you might want to consider disabling Bitlocker altogether. Just make sure you keep your data backed up regularly in case there are any underlying issues.
