Why Does ChatGPT Feel Less Informative Now?

I've been using ChatGPT for a long time and really enjoyed asking it about topics like science, history, and true crime. The answers used to be incredibly detailed, almost essay-like, complete with lots of sources. Recently, though, it seems like the responses have become a lot less informative. Now it often pulls from Reddit posts or asks, "let me know if you want to know more about X." What's going on? Did something change? Is there a way to restore its previous level of detail?

Not sure I get what you mean. Can you give an example of the kinds of answers you're getting? Like, some topics where you feel it's not giving you enough detail?

Sure! For instance, when I asked about the history of Africa, I got a brief and kind of surface-level response instead of the in-depth breakdown I expected. Are you seeing similar issues?

It sounds like you might not be leveraging its conversation style effectively! Try opening a new chat and ask something like, "What's the latest buzz in science? Spill the tea on it!" Gotta get 'em talking! Let me know how it goes! 😂

Honestly, I think it just depends on how specific your questions are. If you're getting vague answers, try being more detailed or direct in what you're asking. It can still provide sharp responses if prompted correctly.

Mine's been pretty sharp too! I'm still getting detailed information when I ask about historical events or figures, so it might just be the types of questions being asked.
