I'm trying to help my little brother, who recently got hacked on Roblox. We're changing his password and have 2-step authentication set up on his account. The problem is that it asks for a 6-digit code from the Microsoft Authenticator app, but mine is displaying an 8-digit code instead. I'm using Windows 11 Home, and my phone is an Oppo Reno 10. Can someone please help us with this issue? My brother has put money into the game, so it's really important! Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you're trying to use the authenticator app code from your device, but you actually need the code generated on your brother's device. If he doesn’t have the authenticator app installed, you might need to help him set it up first. Once that's done, he'll get the correct 6-digit code needed to proceed with the changes.
If your brother's account is linked to your email and he doesn't have the authenticator app, you might need to reset the 2-step verification settings. Once that's done, he can link his phone to the authenticator app himself and then use the correct 6-digit code. Make sure you're following the setup instructions closely!
