I've been having a weird issue with my Windows 11 computer where Microsoft Edge automatically opens up when I boot it up, despite having the auto boot setting turned off. It's frustrating because even when I use the task manager to shut it down, it just pops back up. I also noticed a location popup saying "Programs using location: Microsoft Edge" appearing at the bottom right of my screen. In the Control Panel, I found something called "Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection" listed under uninstall options. The only things I've installed recently are Steam, Brave Browser, and Discord, and I haven't even used Microsoft Edge for browsing other than downloading a different browser. Anyone know how I can check if I have a virus or why this is happening?

Sounds like you might have some malware if Edge is acting up like that. You should definitely check your system with a good malware removal tool. Microsoft's built-in Windows Defender can be a start, but you might also want to run something like Malwarebytes. That location popup is suspicious too, so keep an eye on it!
Remote Desktop Connection is actually a standard feature in Windows, so it’s not necessarily a problem by itself. But definitely check your startup settings to disable Edge from launching automatically. Sometimes, certain browser settings can be altered by third-party software, so it's worth a look!
If Edge keeps reopening despite being disabled, that’s definitely a sign of a deeper problem. It might be good to reset Edge or consider reinstalling it after ensuring you've checked for malware. That could help fix any weird settings!
Yeah, I felt the same way when I had issues like this. Just running a malware scan helped clear things up. Also, make sure to check your startup programs in Task Manager to see if Edge is set to run on startup.
