Why Does My Acer Nitro 5 Keep Crashing During Games?

I'm having a frustrating issue with my Acer Nitro 5, which has an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. Whenever I try playing games, my laptop freezes—the display gets stuck and the audio stutters briefly before returning to normal, but the display stays frozen. I can't tab out, and eventually, my laptop either restarts or I get a blue screen error. The only game that seems to work consistently is Minecraft, especially with lower resolutions and performance mods. I've tried a factory reset already, but nothing has improved. Does anyone think this could be a hardware issue? I linked my dump files for further analysis.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a hardware issue, but first, try to gather those dump files for better analysis. If you can get into Windows normally or even through Safe Mode, check the C:WindowsMinidump folder for any crash logs. Those dumps can really help identify the problem. Zip them up and share them on a file-sharing site like MediaFire or Catbox. Having multiple dump files is useful for diagnosing crashes.

It could also be your RAM causing the crashes. If you're considering diagnosis, you might want to run a memory test. Tools like MemTest86 can help. Just make sure your laptop is powered down properly before you start any tests to avoid further crashes while you're troubleshooting!

Is there a specific way to run the memory test? I’ve never used it before.
