Why Does My ASUS Laptop Keep Shutting Down with Kernel Power 41 Error?

Hey folks! I've been dealing with a frustrating issue on my ASUS Vivobook (Model No. X1505ZA). A couple of weeks ago, while gaming, my laptop just shut off unexpectedly. At first, I thought it was a fluke, but these sudden shutdowns have become more frequent. Each time, I noticed a critical "Kernel Power 41 (63)" error in the event viewer. I've been trying to narrow down the cause and it seems like it only happens when I'm gaming and the AC is plugged in. Here's what I've done so far to fix it:

1. Updated the BIOS using F2 on startup (stopped the issue for a day, then it came back).
2. Ran system diagnostics with the MyASUS app.
3. Performed a system repair through Windows at startup (only fixed it temporarily).
4. Used DriverEasy to update all drivers.

I'm running out of options and starting to worry it might be a hardware issue – and it's a fairly new laptop since I bought it in April this year. I've seen suggestions that it could be a power supply issue, especially since this started happening after I switched to a UK to EU charging adapter. I thought that adapter was working fine because I'd used it for a couple of weeks.

I'd really appreciate any insights or advice on how to tackle this problem. Thanks in advance!

If you're worried about hardware issues, a good step would be to perform a clean Windows install. Just make sure to back everything up first! A fresh install can help rule out any software problems. When doing the install, avoid using third-party driver updaters because they can sometimes mess things up. Stick with Windows updates and the MyASUS app for your drivers.

It sounds like your laptop is experiencing power loss during high-performance situations, which matches the Kernel Power 41 error. This often indicates that the system has lost power without shutting down properly. One thing you could do is share your event logs to get a clearer picture of the issue. I found a useful guide on how to share those logs, which might help others troubleshoot this better for you.
