I've got a Windows computer that crashes whenever I unplug any device, whether it's the mouse or even the power cable. It goes to a black screen after a few seconds, showing an error message that says 'an error has occurred' along with the code: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF). Does anyone know why this is happening?

Sounds like corrupted system files could be the culprit here. I recommend running some SFC commands to check for and repair any corrupted files that might be causing this crash. You can do that by opening Command Prompt as an admin and typing 'sfc /scannow'.
Are all the devices you're unplugging USB ones? If so, it might be related to how Windows is handling those USB connections. Also, before unplugging anything, make sure to eject the devices properly to avoid this issue.
Just a thought, but make sure you disconnect the devices from your computer first before unplugging them completely. This might save you from the crashes.
