Why does my computer detect my second monitor as a camera?

I'm trying to set up a second monitor for my Lenovo laptop, which has a broken screen. I already have one external monitor connected via HDMI. For the second monitor, I'm using a USB-3 to VGA adapter since my laptop only has one HDMI port. However, the device manager is incorrectly identifying it as a "USB video device" under the category of "Camera". I've tried changing which monitor is connected to each port and have also used a different USB port, but nothing seems to work. Any advice would be really appreciated!

It sounds like you might have picked up a capture card instead of a proper video output dongle. Double-check the specifications of your adapter. What exactly are you using to connect your second monitor?

This is the adapter I'm using: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B085KX97QG. I believe I've used it before for this setup. I have a VGA cable plugged into it and the monitor, and the adapter is connected to my USB 3 port. I thought it was supposed to be plug-and-play like the HDMI setup, so I'm unsure of any configuration I might need to do in Windows.
