I recently upgraded from a GTX 1660 to an RTX 2060 that I bought used and everything works well, but the noise coming from the GPU fan is ridiculous. I read that my card has a single big fan, which shouldn't be too noisy, but when I play demanding games, it sounds like a jet engine. I only had one case fan with the GTX setup, but I've ordered two more to set up a two intake, one exhaust configuration; however, only the exhaust fan has arrived so far. Will adding these new fans help lower the noise? During high-performance games like 'Another Crabs Treasure', my GPU fan is hitting 2400 RPM and the temperature is around 85 degrees. Should I be concerned?

Have you checked if your GPU is clogged with dust? If the fans are clean and spinning, repasting might be your best bet. Also, keep in mind that new case fans might not make a huge difference in this case because the GPU cooler design plays a big role in noise levels.
Fan noise can drive some people crazy, and if you're sensitive to it, you might have to just accept the sound as part of your gaming life. I’d recommend checking your CPU cooler and making sure all fans are working well together to create good airflow in the case.
I get that! I like a quieter setup too, so I’ll look into more efficient cooling solutions.
If your GPU is really loud, you might want to consider talking to a technician about swapping out the thermal paste. It sounds like your card could be running hotter than it should. If it’s a noisy cooler design, even repasting might only help so much, but it’s worth a shot.
Great suggestion! I’ll look for a technician nearby to help with this.
It sounds like you might have a blower-style cooler, and unfortunately, they tend to be pretty loud no matter what. You could try repasting the thermal paste, as that can sometimes help lower the temperatures and fan speed. Just make sure you follow a guide specific to your GPU model!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look up a guide on that.
Yeah, it’s pretty clean, so I’m thinking it’s probably the thermal paste that’s old. I’ll get that checked out!
