Why does my iPad keep turning off by itself?

My iPad has been acting strange lately. It works fine for hours, but then it starts turning off and on by itself repeatedly. I've checked the auto-lock settings, and it's off, so that's not the issue. Sometimes I can get it to the home screen for a moment, but it goes back to the lock screen almost immediately. It's like it's flashing the lock screen over and over. This has been happening for a while, and my warranty just expired. Do I need to take it in for repairs? I also have a video showing the problem, but I'm not sure how to share it here.

It sounds like a frustrating issue! Since your warranty just expired, it might be a good idea to back up your data if you haven’t already. You mentioned you have a backup from yesterday, which is great. After backing up, you could try a hard reset by holding the power and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo. Sometimes that can help with glitches like this.

Totally agree! A hard reset often helps. If that doesn’t work, you might need to consider getting it checked out since the top button’s issues might be related.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try the hard reset first and see if it makes any difference.
