Why does my laptop say ‘USB Device not recognized’ when nothing is plugged in?

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue where my laptop keeps displaying the message 'USB Device not recognized,' even though I don't have anything plugged into it. I've already rebooted the system twice, and all my USB drivers are updated. I'm out of ideas on what else to try!

I might have found a workaround! I noticed that if I plug something into the USB port, the error message goes away. It’s weird because having nothing plugged in shouldn't trigger this issue, but maybe there’s a glitch in the system that the device tries to communicate with when it's empty. Any thoughts?

Have you checked for dust or debris in your USB ports? Sometimes, just a little cleaning can solve the problem. It might be worth using a can of compressed air to clear them out!
