Why does my laptop sometimes not recognize the SSD after shutdown?

I've been having a weird issue with my laptop where it randomly fails to detect the SSD after I shut it down. I can use my laptop for hours without any problem, but when I turn it off and then back on after a short period, it just doesn't recognize the SSD. However, if I leave the laptop off for an hour or two, it starts detecting it again, and everything works fine. This hasn't happened before, so I'm wondering what might be causing it or how I can fix it. Here are some details:
- SSD Model: sk hynix bc901 hfs512gej9x108n
- Laptop Model: HP VICTUS 15-fa1034nn
- Specs: I5 12450h, 16Gb RAM, RTX 4050 6GB.

When your laptop fails to detect the SSD after shutting down, there are a couple of possibilities. First, confirm the message you see on boot up: if it's "No drive found," it might be a connection issue or the drive could be failing. If it says something like "No OS or bootable device found," it could be a BIOS misconfiguration or a problem with the SSD's boot sector. You should check the physical connection of the SSD or consider running some diagnostics.

That makes sense! I ran some diagnostics, and it said the SSD wasn’t visible in BIOS at times. Could this be a sign to get it looked at under warranty?

Yeah, if it keeps happening, definitely consider sending it in for repair, especially since it’s still under warranty.
