I've got a strange issue with my laptop that I've never dealt with before. It completely shuts down whenever I run anything that requires even a little bit of processing power. For instance, just trying to use Adobe Photoshop's perspective crop feature makes it turn off immediately. The odd part is that when I plug the charger in, it shows that the battery still has charge. I replaced the battery about two years ago, and it's only gone through around 250 charge cycles, so I don't think it's faulty. I'm certain it's not overheating, so could this be a software issue? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

It sounds like your laptop might be shutting down due to overheating, even if you don’t notice it getting too hot. It could be the CPU getting dangerously hot and shutting down to protect itself. You might want to check the thermal paste on your CPU and consider reapplying it, or even adjust the fan settings to ensure it's cooling properly.
Yeah, I get the same thing! My system runs fine under normal conditions too. I’m planning to repaste my CPU as well to see if that helps. Also, cranking up the fan speed might be worth trying!
