Why Does My Monitor Go Black When I Turn On Other Appliances?

I've been having a frustrating issue with my Acer Nitro VG270 M3 monitor, which is 27 inches and connected via HDMI. Here's the deal: the power light on the monitor stays on, but the display itself goes black for a few seconds when I turn on or off other appliances, especially the fan or microwave. Sometimes, the monitor won't turn back on unless I manually restart it. This has been happening for over a year, and I even got a UPS (APC Back-UPS BX600C-IN) just for the monitor, but it hasn't solved the problem. I'm really confused about what's causing this and have run out of troubleshooting options. Is it a monitor issue or something else?

Dude, I'm facing a similar problem! If you find a solution, please be sure to share it with us. It's so annoying to deal with these random outages!

I had a similar issue before! The next time your monitor goes black, try restarting your display adapter in Windows. Just press Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to see if that brings the display back. Also, check if your devices are plugged into the same circuit. That could be a factor in this issue.

It sounds like your monitor might be suffering from electromagnetic interference. When appliances like microwaves or fans switch on or off, they can send spikes through the electrical system that mess with your HDMI signal. I've encountered something similar with my Acer screens. You might want to check your wiring to see if everything's on the same circuit. It could be helpful to use cable ferrites to reduce any interference too.
