Why does my monitor keep going black on my Mac Mini?

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue where my monitor keeps going black intermittently when connected to my M4 Mac Mini. I've tested the cable and monitor with other devices, and they work perfectly fine, so I suspect it's a problem specifically with the Mac Mini itself. This is actually not the first time I've encountered this; I had the same issue with my previous M1 Mac Mini. I've reached out to Apple support, but they haven't been helpful at all. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Have you checked if your monitor has any firmware updates? Sometimes that can help with compatibility issues. Also, consider trying a different cable. I once had a similar issue with a Dell monitor at work that was resolved after a firmware update, and I've seen cases where the cable was to blame even if it worked fine with other devices. The M4 Mac Mini can be particular about the quality of the cables, so experimenting with different types, like trying HDMI to DisplayPort, might be worth it.

I’ll check for firmware updates. I guess grabbing another cable is a good idea too, even though I'm currently using HDMI to HDMI. Maybe switching to HDMI to DP could help?
