I've recently started using the MSI G2412 monitor, and I'm experiencing some serious eye discomfort. After just a short period of use, my eyes start to burn, and it feels like they're being poked. I know this sounds a bit odd, but the monitor emits a light that really hurts. I've tried adjusting various settings like F.lux, enabling low blue light mode, and night vision, but nothing seems to help. I've never had this issue with any other monitors before. Does anyone know why this is happening and if there's a way to fix it?

If the monitor uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to control the backlight, that could be causing your discomfort. Unfortunately, if it does, there’s not much you can do since it's a hardware issue.
Consider increasing the ambient light in your room and sitting a bit further back from the screen. That usually helps reduce eye strain.
I tried that, but it didn't work for me.
You might want to check the color temperature or see if the monitor supports HDR. Sometimes the color settings can really affect how the light feels on your eyes.
It doesn't have HDR, and the colors are set to natural.
Maybe try increasing the night mode level, using some eye drops, and check if it's affecting both eyes or just one by closing one at a time. It could help figure out if it's something more specific.
Normally, it doesn't use PWM; it's an IPS panel and MSI claims it's anti-glare.
