I just bought my wife a new M4 MacBook Air, and after setting it up together, we put it aside for a week. Now, when I try to log in, it won't accept the password. I thought maybe I had forgotten it, but she remembers it correctly. After trying different variations and getting locked out by Apple for an hour, I found a solution online to reset the password through recovery mode, and that worked. But now, after another few days of no use, it's not accepting the password again! I'm really frustrated and would like to know if anyone else is having this issue with a new M4 Air. Is there a possible solution I might be missing? Should I consider returning it for a replacement?

It sounds like you might be accidentally switching keyboard layouts when typing the password, which can mess with what you're entering. Double-check your settings to make sure you're using the US keyboard layout, if that’s what you’re used to.
Thanks for the suggestion. We’re using a standard US keyboard setup, so I don't think that’s the issue. It’s just odd that it keeps happening.
