Why Does My New PC Keep Booting to BIOS Instead of Installing Windows 11?

Hey folks, I just built a new PC and I'm running into a pretty frustrating issue. Here are my specs: 7800x3d CPU, Aorus x870e plus motherboard, 32GB G.Skill RAM, and a 9070 XT GPU. I've got two SSDs from an old system that still have their files and a 2TB HDD with files from the same old system.

The PC is booting to BIOS just fine, and it recognizes both my SSDs and HDD, along with my USB flash drive for Windows 11 and BIOS driver updates, which I did separately.

I updated the BIOS successfully, but I'm stuck trying to download Windows 11. It doesn't seem to boot from the USB for the Media Creation Tool, and when I check in the flash menu, it can't find the files. I'm a bit lost on what steps to take next. If you need more details, just let me know!

Oh, I realized I actually need to run the Media Creation Tool—my bad! I'm leaving this for anyone else who might be in the same boat.

You can't just drop the Media Creation Tool onto the USB drive; you need to run it on another computer first. That tool formats the USB and installs all necessary files for you.

Haha, we've all been there! It can be easy to overlook things after multiple builds.

Did you just copy the ISO to the USB, or did you run the Media Creation Tool? Also, check if you can select the Windows 11 installer in your BIOS boot menu. Make sure Secure Boot is enabled; otherwise, it might not load properly.

I just copied it like a fool—already updated my post, thanks for your input!

Exactly! The Media Creation Tool needs to be executed on a working PC to set up the USB as a bootable Windows installer.

I definitely know that now—totally forgot to run the tool! Thanks for the heads up.
