Why does my older Intel and RTX 3060 setup outperform my new Ryzen and RTX 5070 in some games?

I've been puzzled since I received my new GPU. I purchased a PC with an Intel i7-8700 and an RTX 3060 from Facebook Marketplace intending to resell it, but I decided to benchmark it for fun. In my first game, Rust, I'm getting 90 FPS on a large map with max settings on the 3060 setup. But when I tried the same map on my other PC with a Ryzen 7 5800XT and RTX 5070, I was shocked to see only 70 FPS while using heavy weapons like the HMLMG and SKS. It's been bothering me, so I thought I'd ask for help. I also tried playing Ascent and got 21 FPS on high settings with the 3060, whereas the 5070 barely hit 40 FPS without enabling DLSS frame generation, which causes input lag. In GTA 5, I managed 75 FPS with high ray tracing on the 3060 and 120 FPS on the 5070. Here are the specs for both PCs:

**RTX 5070 Setup:**
- Ryzen 7 5800XT
- 32GB RAM (3200)
- Samsung 970 EVO NVMe 1TB SSD
- B550 AC-HES Plus motherboard

**RTX 3060 Setup:**
- i7-8700
- 16GB DDR4 (3200)
- Samsung 970 EVO NVMe 256GB SSD
- Z370 Sli Plus motherboard

Both CPUs are cooled with a 240mm AIO cooler. I'm genuinely curious and a bit worried about these performance differences. Any insights?

It seems like your older setup is surprisingly keeping pace in Rust. Did you check if XMP or D.O.C.P is enabled on the newer PC? Sometimes, memory settings can really affect performance, especially in games that rely heavily on CPU and memory.

I looked into that, but my motherboard says D.O.C.P and there weren't any options available in the BIOS. As for Ascent, I wouldn't say the newer PC is significantly faster—it didn’t hit the expected 60 FPS, which is disappointing.
