Hey everyone, I've just built a new PC, but I'm running into a frustrating problem. When I start playing games, everything seems fine initially, but after a while, the screen goes completely black even though the fans keep running. It feels like the GPU temporarily disconnects, which leads to these crashes and black screens. I've tried reinstalling the GPU drivers, but that didn't solve the issue. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 7500F CPU, RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU, 16GB DDR5 4800 RAM, ASUS TUF B650M-E WiFi motherboard, 500GB NVMe storage, and I'm running Windows 11. I'm looking for any advice or solutions to this problem!

First off, have you checked the temperatures? If the GPU is running too hot, that could cause crashes. Ideally, under load, you want it around 40-60°C. Also, take a look at your Windows reliability history. It might not give a specific answer, but sometimes it shows unexpected reboots or errors that could point you in the right direction.
When your screen goes black, do the GPU fans ramp up to max? That can be a clue if it's overheating or hitting some kind of failure mode.
I haven't checked that yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next time the issue happens.
Make sure all the power cables to your GPU are securely connected. You might also want to consider swapping out the cables if you have extras handy. If you're able to test a different power supply, that would be ideal. Additionally, check the Event Viewer in Windows for any logs that might indicate what's going wrong. Driver corruption is rare on a fresh install, but it’s worth checking. And don't forget to adjust your power plan in Windows to 'Maximum Performance' for testing. I faced this issue before, and it turned out my 12VHPWR cable was damaged due to bending.

Good point! Also, what power supply are you using? Sometimes, inadequate power supply can cause instability.
