Why Does My PC Keep Waking Up in the Middle of the Night?

I recently built a PC after years of using MacBooks, and I'm facing a frustrating problem where it keeps waking up shortly after I put it to sleep—like within five minutes! I've tried unplugging all my USB devices, including the mouse, keyboard, and controller, but it still happens. I ran the powercfg/lastwake command, but it didn't reveal anything specific. My GPU, a Gigabyte GeForce RTX3060, seems to be the first thing that activates when it wakes up, so maybe there's something causing that? It's particularly annoying since my setup is in my bedroom, and I don't want to keep shutting it down or re-sleeping it daily. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Alternatively, you might want to check if your Ethernet cable is causing the wake ups. Sometimes network devices can trigger it. Give that a shot!

Have you checked if 'Wake on LAN' is enabled in Windows? That can often be the culprit! Just disable it and see if the problem persists.

If you still want to put it to sleep, try hibernating instead. Just keep in mind that waking up from hibernation takes about the same time as starting from scratch.

Maybe just shut it down instead? It’ll definitely stop it from waking up, plus it only takes a few seconds to start back up!

Yeah, those 20 seconds for the startup can feel like a hassle, right?
