Why Does My PC Only Work When Plugged In After Upgrading to a New SSD?

I recently upgraded my laptop with a new 512 GB SSD, transferring all my old files to it. However, once I changed out the SSDs and tried to boot up my PC, it only works when it's plugged in. I tested the old SSD after and it worked fine, but when I switched back to the new one, it wouldn't start unless I had it plugged in. I'm now stuck; what might be causing this issue?

Make sure you connected the battery properly if you had to disconnect it during installation. Even if you didn’t touch it, it's worth double-checking. And a tip for future upgrades: always disconnect the battery for safety. Better to be safe than sorry!

Is this a laptop you’re working with?

Yep, it’s a laptop!

When you have the new SSD installed, does your laptop recognize the battery? Sometimes, if the battery isn't detected, it won’t boot unless it's plugged in, which can happen after hardware changes.
