Why Does My PC Shut Down Only When Playing DX12 Games?

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue where my PC randomly shuts down and shows a black screen while gaming, but this only happens when I'm using DirectX 12. My setup is running fine on DirectX 11 with the GPU maxing out at 255W, but in DX12, it eventually crashes and reboots. I've ruled out several components because I've replaced my RAM, PSU (over a year ago), CPU, and cooler. Temperatures are good, even under load in DX11. I've also tried using the MPOGPUFIX program to no avail. I'm concerned since more games are moving to DX12 and I'd rather not be stuck with DX11 as a workaround. My specs include a 6800XT GPU, Ryzen 7 7700, Gigabyte a620m S2H motherboard, and G.Skill 32GB 6000 30 CL RAM.

It sounds like you're dealing with a tough issue! One thing you can try is checking for crash logs. Go to your Windows folder, usually on the C drive, and look in the Minidump and Kernel Reports folders for any recent logs that correspond with the shutdowns. You can use a tool like WinDbg to analyze these logs and see if there's any indication of what's causing the crash, possibly a driver issue with your AMD setup.

I found a bunch of files in my folders, but one of them is 10.5GB and labeled as WATCHDOG. Should I be looking at that one instead?
