Why Does My PC Shut Off When It’s Idle for a Few Hours?

I've been experiencing an issue where my PC shuts down when it's sitting unused for a couple to five hours, but the RAM RGB lights stay lit and the power button flashes once every second. I have an Asus Gaming Plus WiFi X570 motherboard with a Ryzen 3700X (though I have a 5600X ready to install), Corsair Dominator 3200 C16 RAM (4x16 GB), and a Nvidia 3080 Founders Edition GPU. My cooling is handled by a Corsair AIO water cooler (240mm), I have Firecuda M.2 drives for games and OS, plus a 2TB SSD for games as well. I'm using a Corsair 850W PSU in a Lian Li Lancool Mesh 2 case and have 9 Corsair QL120 fans. The strange thing is, it never turns off while I'm actively using it, only when I step away for a while. When it does shut down, I can easily turn it back on by pressing the power button. I'm really looking for any advice on how to troubleshoot or fix this issue. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like your PC might be going into sleep mode instead of completely shutting down. When you leave it idle, try moving the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard to see if it wakes up right away. If it does, then it's not actually powering off; just check your power settings to see if it’s set to enter sleep mode after a certain time. You can disable that option in the control panel to prevent it from sleeping when you walk away.

Make sure to check the USB settings on your PC. Sometimes, there's a power-saving feature that turns off power to USB devices to conserve energy. If that’s enabled, it might cause your system to shut off or enter a power-saving state. You can usually find this in the Device Manager under USB settings. Just uncheck any options related to allowing the computer to turn off the device to save power.
